These sketches play with negative space between color, edge and expressiveness within the vertical shape. Still inspired by spontaneity, I drew a deeper response to the conditions of the medium within the landscape. Drawing over rock, tree bark and grass, textures reveal the physical spaces from my home in Gloucester, MA. Each drawing is a response to a single happening during the stay-at-home ordinance in April & May 2020.
44 drawings made with oil sticks on heavy duty canvas— approximately 11” x 14” fastened with antique brass grommets for easy hanging. because pieces were made outside, prepare for some natural imperfections on the surface. hand signed on the back.
